Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach has world class Sail fishing within 1 to 3 miles offshore. No where are Sailfish more easily assessable than right here in South Florida. No need to travel to other countries. Sail fish are here all year. The winter months from November till April are top months to be here.

There are Sailfish Tournaments going on almost every month at these times of year. As the cold fronts push south so do the Sailfish, tailing down sea riding the waves and following the bait the fronts produce. Some days are very rough but the Sailfish love it. N-NE and blow'n, but not all the good days are rough. Catching 5 or 6 even double digit days are very common.

Most of the Sailfishing if not all these days is done with Kites or slow trolling live baits. There is nothing like a mild day in the 70's with a light NE wind blowing sunny skies clear water and Sailfish on top tailing looking for bait. The bite is on. So Why travel out of the the US you have some of the best Sailfishing in the world right here in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. USA.

Size: common to 7 feet

Remarks: rapid growing species, reaching 4 to 5 feet in a single year; swims at speeds up to 50 knots; feeds on the surface or at mid-depths on smaller pelagic fishes and squid.
