Here in South Florida, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Biscayne Bay we have a few Tarpon year round. January they start arriving and fill in more and more till June.

Many fish we catch are 80-100 pounds and not uncommon at all to catch one over 150 pounds. Whether you want to catch them Fly fishing or bait fishing is fine with me. As long as I am fishing for Tarpon I am a happy Cappy!

Notes: slow grower; spawning occurs between May and September; can tolerate wide range of salinity; can breathe air at surface; feeds mainly on fish and large crustaceans.
